Why do many tips say “Draft”? Generative AI is very helpful for getting started on teaching and learning materials–it can organize an impressive amount of details and make many useful suggestions–but AI will never replace the instructor. As the instructor you bring your knowledge, expertise, experience, personality, and creativity to making any teaching resource your own, especially those you have begun with AI. So go ahead an use AI to create rough drafts to get you rolling, but keep in mind that there will always be necessary space for you to make its output actually right for you.
Did you use AI to initially brainstorm these? Yes, we did. We did not use everything it suggested, we added some of our own, and we evaluated all the details to ensure we were familiar with the practices, sources, and concepts. We learned some things, and we discarded a great deal.
