Service-Learning Fellows

Co-facilitated by Community-Engaged Teaching and Research and CATLR, the Service-Learning Fellows Program guides a cohort of faculty through an examination and application of evidence-based practices, resulting in the deepening or new implementation of service-learning in a course.

The Service-Learning Fellows program is open to full-time faculty from all disciplines. The program spans one academic year and participants will receive a stipend upon successful completion.

Research on service-learning has shown numerous significant and positive outcomes for students, faculty, and communities. Key areas of focus include:

  • Responsible community engagement and critical service-learning
  • Ethical community partnerships
  • Activities that prepare students for service
  • Integrated student reflection
