Building Community and Addressing Microaggressions

Jan 31 • 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm

At the beginning of a learning experience, many learners value a sense of trust and community. Together, learners and educators can co-create not only intellectual but social and emotional expectations. Then, when anyone observes or experiences a critical incident such as a microaggression, they can fall back on specific practices for when and how to respond, including ways to revisit expectations and uphold them. Join us to experience such community-building practices, plan how to use them, and consider case examples to imagine when and how to respond if you observe or experience a microaggression.

For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity and Inclusive Teaching” requirement.

This session is only open to Northeastern University educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering.
