Whether in a course or a co-curricular experience, learners who are self-directed are more likely to succeed. Yet, not all learners have developed this capacity to the same degree. Finding ways to help learners assess their needs, set their own goals, identify appropriate resources, and take action can help create an inclusive and equitable learning environment. In this workshop, you will learn strategies for supporting your diverse learners’ ability to follow through on their intentions. While these Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies for supporting self-direction may be essential for some learners, they can benefit all.
For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity & Inclusive Teaching” OR “Assignments, Assessment & Active Learning” requirement.
This session is only open to Northeastern University educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering.
