Graduate Teaching Orientation: Grading and Providing Feedback

Sep 15 • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Grading and feedback provide valuable information in teaching and learning. Educators often wonder, however, just what kinds of feedback enhance learning and how to make grading more manageable. In this workshop you will:

1. Explore strategies for making feedback more effective and grading more equitable – while managing the time demands on you and your learners.
2. Consider examples from across the disciplines of STEM, social sciences, and humanities.
3. Take away concrete templates and new ideas, and consider how to implement them.

To make the most of this session, we encourage you to explore Module 2, Grading & Providing Feedback, of our Graduate Teaching Orientation Course in Canvas beforehand. Module 2’s readings and reflections take about 30 minutes to complete, and you can bring your questions and ideas from the module to our virtual session. Ready to explore the modules now?
