Integrating Mindfulness Practices in Teaching and Learning

How can integrating mindfulness and contemplative practices in the context of teaching and learning benefit students’ learning and sense of belonging? What are important considerations when adopting contemplative pedagogical practices, especially with regards to the appropriation of these culturally rooted approaches? In this workshop, offered in collaboration with the Center for Spirituality, Dialogue, and Service (CSDS), we will explore a range of different contemplative pedagogical practices first-hand, and share how these approaches can particularly help support inquiry and inclusion in our learning environments. No prior experience with mindfulness or contemplative pedagogy is required.

For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity and Inclusive Teaching” requirement.
