This inquiry group will meet for six bi-weekly sessions to explore interculturally informed approaches for creating inclusive learning environments, and to identify strategies for supporting students of diverse backgrounds, both domestic and international, in acculturating in Northeastern classrooms. To guide our discussion, we will be reading Teaching Interculturally(Lee et al., 2017), which provides scholar-practitioners with a theoretical foundation as well as practical tools. To receive a copy of the text, register by 9/20 and commit to participating in all meetings.
Meeting dates are 9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/5, 11/19, and 12/3.
Recommended for: Northeastern educators interested in developing awareness and strategies for creating inclusive learning environments.
For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity and Inclusive Teaching” requirement.
