Supporting Students’ Development of Life Skills

Mar 10 • 11:45 am - 1:15 pm

Whether we engage with students in curricular or co-curricular contexts, we have the opportunity to support students’ development of skills in areas such as help-seeking, time management, and perseverance. In this case-based workshop, we will explore proactive strategies that we can use to describe and frame our learning environments in ways that scaffold students’ development of life skills. We will also explore strategies and university resources (such as We Care, Disability Resource Center, University Health and Counseling Services, and find@Northeastern) that we can draw on when unanticipated scenarios arise. Offered in collaboration with Chong Kim-Wong, Associate Dean of Student Support. Lunch will be provided.

Recommended for: Northeastern University educators interested learning about developing students’ life skills and relevant university resources.
