While students can learn by receiving knowledge through direct instruction methods, such as lectures, they can potentially learn even more deeply by generating the knowledge themselves. This learning can be achieved through activities such as inquiry, reasoning, observation, or analysis of experiences—all of which can motivate students’ learning and make it stick. In this workshop, we will discuss examples of generative activities and explore how they can be implemented in Hybrid NUFlex or online courses.
For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Assessment & Active Learning” Requirement.
