Workshop: Organizing Your Course in Canvas

Jun 15 • 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Every learning management system is designed around a set of assumptions about how instructors teach and students learn. Understanding both the affordances and limitations of Canvas will help you make choices about organizing your courses that will help students to understand your expectations and find needed materials, so their cognitive resources can be spent on learning. In this workshop, we will share principles to guide course design decisions and examine examples of how faculty teaching diverse subjects have organized course sites in Canvas.

This workshop is designed for educators who already have basic knowledge of how to use Canvas. If you are new to Canvas, we suggest completing CATLR’s “Getting Started with Online Teaching in Canvas” self-paced modules or one of Academic Technologies’ introduction to Canvas training options before this workshop.

This session is only open to Northeastern University educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering. You cannot be enrolled in the course without Northeastern credentials.
