In this two-part workshop series, participants will learn how to write effective diversity statements that articulate the ways in which their experiences, skills, and goals can contribute toward the cultivation of inclusive learning environments. Diversity statements should be authentic (tell your story) and be aligned with your teaching philosophy statement. In Part 1 of this two-part workshop, participants will engage in activities designed to kick-start the writing process and help them outline a draft of their diversity statements. In Part 2, participants will identify ways to self-assess and share ideas for refining their drafts. This two-part series is being offered in collaboration with Employer Engagement and Career Design.
Please note that participants are expected to register and attend both session dates. Attendees must register separately for both sessions via Eventbrite.
For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity & Inclusive Teaching” requirement.
This session is only open to Northeastern University educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering. You cannot be enrolled in the course without Northeastern credentials.
