In my graduate-level CPS digital media classes, I’m exploring how Google’s NotebookLM and other AI tools — ethically used, of course — can potentially enhance my students’ learning experience and increase engagement with complex topics. My initial observations suggest that this approach can lead to a deeper and more nuanced understanding of course material.

I’m particularly interested in how NotebookLM and other AI tools can support the unique needs of my students, many of whom are full-time professionals balancing demanding schedules with their academic pursuits. NotebookLM offers several potential opportunities for deeper and more engaged learning, including personalized summaries and interactive questioning of complex source materials. Its AI-generated podcasts are remarkable, too. By integrating cutting-edge AI solutions into my teaching, I aim to create a more inclusive and effective learning environment that empowers all my students to reach their full potential.
