In the workplace, everyone who uses AI is going to be more productive. AI can boost every worker. If you are going to succeed, you need to provide value with increased productivity, beyond what AI models can provide on their own.

I have discovered many ways to use Generative AI tools to support my teaching. These include making behind-the-scenes teaching tasks easier–like grading, generating a syllabus, or creating case studies. GenAI can also make it possible to model complex decision-making live in class. Our students will need to use these tools productively to succeed, so it is incumbent on us to incorporate AI into our teaching and help students understand how to use them and critically evaluate the results. I have found that the best way to understand what Generative AI can do is to experiment with it – use different tools and compare the results. An investment of 10-20 hours will result in reasonable proficiency. And continuing to work with AI tools will result in AI truly becoming your co-pilot.
