While I was initially somewhat dismissive of the current AI technology, I have since found that the newer models are more accessible and more democratic than the earlier ones. Learning communities where people are training themselves and learning about the capabilities and limitations of AI are of great interest to me.
I started incorporating generative AI into coursework to give students an opportunity to be creative and collaborative without the need for a lot of extra time and other resources. I believe it is important to make the processes transparent by explaining how the systems work. Experimentation is an effective means of getting people interested in the tools and motivated to learn how they work.
