Reaching Groups of Students with Differing Backgrounds and Interests

Sep 20 • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Each student brings a wealth of prior experience, interests, and life goals with them into your class. With the rise of combined majors and other personalized pathways, educators are encountering increasingly disparate groups of students, with very different needs.

You can increase engagement and optimize learning by tapping into student strengths. It can also be helpful to know if there are gaps or misalignment between course goals and learner interests or preparedness. In this workshop you will gain ideas for getting a better sense of your learners and how they are engaging with course subject matter. You will also consider what you can do with this information once you know about it!

This session is only open to Northeastern University students, staff and educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering.
